$207 million dollar Sirata Beach Resort has big, big plans. Sirata Beach Resort in St. Pete Beach, is set for a gigantic expansion following its gigantic purchase by Columbia Sussex for $207 million in December. The resort will be renovated and upgraded, with 57 of its existing rooms being removed, and the pool and Compass Grille relocated.

Hold on! The expansion plans include two new hotels, one of which will be a 290-key luxury hotel, 10 stories tall. They’ll have a three-story parking garage podium, elevated pool, meeting space, ballroom, and talks with JW Marriott as the potential operator.

The other will be an eight-story, 130-key select-service hotel geared towards families, on the southern end. These projects will take the total rooms to 647. Two public beach access spots will also be added. Kimley-Horn will act as the engineer and Pivot Studio as the architect for the development. The acquisition of Sirata Beach Resort was the most expensive hotel purchase in Pinellas County history. TBBJ
